Service Standards

To pursue the highest level of reliability for your journey, we have evolved our traditional FAQ into these comprehensive Service Standards.

This page outlines our operational commitments, the scope of our intelligence, and the professional boundaries that allow us to provide you with the most actionable guidance for your China journey.

Section 1: Trust & Authority

Is Lantway an official government agency?

No. Lantway is an independent service based in Shanghai. While government sites provide the "what" (laws), we provide the "how" (execution). We bridge the gap between "what the law says" and "how to get things done" on the ground.

Can I use Lantway's entry assessment results as official legal advice?

No. Please consider Lantway your professional pre-travel consultant. Our content and tools save you days or even weeks of research by providing high-accuracy assessments based on current public policies. However, final entry authority rests solely with the China Immigration Inspection.

Section 2: Scope & Eligibility

Who can use Lantway's entry assessment?

We cover ordinary passport holders from over 160 countries. For accuracy, please note that our current assessment tool is not tailored for the following categories:

  • Holders of Home Return Permits (HK/Macau) or Taiwan Compatriot Permits;
  • Holders of Chinese Permanent Residence Cards or existing long-term Residence Permits;
  • APEC Business Travel Card holders, or Diplomatic/Official passport holders;
  • On-duty crew members of international transportation.

Section 3: Content Freshness & Reliability

How up-to-date is the information?

We monitor official updates daily and aim to reflect changes within 24–48 hours. Every Playbook and Resolution features a "Last Verified" timestamp. Additionally, we provide direct links to official Embassy for final and absolute confirmation.

Section 4: Value Proposition

Why use Lantway instead of ChatGPT or Google?

Google results may include outdated advice and policies, and AI models may hallucinate. Lantway provides verified, step-by-step actions, including specific app screenshots and "edge-case" solutions.

I already have a visa; what else do I need?

A visa is only the first step. There can be trouble after you land: activating eSIMs, making payments on Alipay, completing the mandatory 24-hour Police Registration, and staying in touch with home through your favorite apps. We help you navigate your first 72 hours so they are seamless, not stressful.

Can I access my Roadmap offline once I'm in China?

Yes. Our Pro version includes a downloadable PDF Roadmap. We highly recommend saving it to your device before landing, ensuring you have clear instructions even before you have local internet access in China.

Section 5: Payment & Data Security

Is my payment and personal data secure?

Absolutely. We use Paddle for our transactions, ensuring bank-level encryption. Lantway does not store your bank card information. We only collect the minimum data necessary to generate your personalized assessment and will never sell your data collected via the assessment tool or your account information to third parties.

What is your Refund Policy?

Due to the nature of instant-access digital information, all sales are generally final. However, we stand behind the quality. If you believe there is a technical error or factual discrepancy in your Roadmap, please reach out to us and we will make it right. We encourage you to try our Free Assessment first to verify that our service meets your needs before upgrading to Pro.

Section 6: Support & Liability

What if my problem is not covered or I'm still denied entry?

Our database covers common issues and edge cases as many as possible. If your situation is unique, please let Lantway know. Your feedback helps us expand our database. Please be aware that while we provide the best "exam prep" available, we cannot guarantee the "exam result" at the border, as immigration officers have final discretionary power based on individual circumstances.
